Absztrakt (kivonat)

EMEA region, using Aon plc as the focal company. The study investigates how employees working in integrated, client-facing EMEA teams perceive cross-cultural communication challenges in their everyday work, how these challenges relate to collaboration efficiency, and what role digital tools play in supporting or complicating cooperation across cultural boundaries. Several key concepts are defined and explored throughout the thesis. Global Services Networks are understood as organizational models that link specialized, knowledge-based capabilities across multiple countries into interconnected value chains — moving beyond traditional outsourcing toward integrated service delivery. Cross-cultural collaboration refers to the coordinated work of employees whose values, communication styles, and professional expectations are shaped by different national and organizational cultures. Collaboration efficiency describes the perceived ability of teams to achieve shared objectives in a productive and timely manner despite these cultural differences. The EMEA region itself is treated as a distinct and highly heterogeneous context, spanning over 100 countries and combining varied communication cultures, power distance orientations, regulatory environments, and business practices. The analysis draws on established theoretical frameworks — including Hofstede's cultural dimensions, Hall's high- and low-context communication model, Trompenaars' value orientations, and the GLOBE study — alongside a quantitative survey conducted among 71 Aon EMEA employees. The findings aim to connect theoretical insights with the practical realities of working in a large multinational professional services firm, offering implications for regional management, team leaders, and future research on cross-cultural collaboration in global services environments.
