Absztrakt (kivonat)

This study explores the function of renewable energy financing in helping us move to a new, cleaner energy system and promote economic growth in Germany and Brazil. Our main research question is: how will the financing of renewable energy really help us reach our new energy goals and stimulate economic growth in both highly developed and less developed nations? To find out this, the study used a combination of methods including econometric analysis of a large data set (1990-2024) and a survey of 210 people to catch both wide-ranging economic impacts and what real stakeholders believe. The results show that renewable energy financing indeed has a very positive and statistically significant effect on economic growth in both countries. But the size of this effect depends greatly on both the stability of the economy and how well our institution functions. In Germany, stable conditions let green finance really help innovation and our economy grow. In Brazil, while renewable energy investment has a lot of potential benefits, its effect is seriously limited by very high inflation and fluctuating economic conditions. The survey results also indicate that although people are often interested in investing in renewable energy, financial restrictions and a lack of access to funding are significant obstacles all the same. What they prefer in terms of policy seems to be educational campaigns, various financing options, and tax incentives even more than bureaucratic processes. The study concludes that renewable energy financing is a true growth-booster for both developed and developing economies, yet its impact really depends very much on a country's specific economic structure. For future studies should quite literally enlarge their analysis to even more countries and larger sets of data so that we have even more generalizable results.
