Absztrakt (kivonat)

I completed my internship at a small-sized cargo company, whose main profiles are waste management, domestic and international road freight transportation and mechanical eart-hwork. My goal was to put my previously acquired theoretical knowledge into practise, and to learn about the practical methods used in the occupation as a transportation planner. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate and propose solutions to the problems, that road transportatation companies have to face nowadays. Road transporters transporting bulk goods have been facing difficulties during the past years. Due to the global crisis, the construction industry, which is the main purchaser of bulk mining products, is seemingly collapsing. Additionally, the state has regulated the grain ex-port, which left many entrepreneurs without a job. A lack of drivers, the highly priced fit-tings and fuel, and a general fuel shortage make it even more difficult for road freight com-panies. The harvesting season is soon to begin, therefore the agricultural containers have to be emptied. The state regulation of the grain export, a prohibition, expired on the 20th of Janu-ary. Subsequently, companies’ only option is to follow the market and prepare for a panic-fuelled supply in the near future. Once the building material prices start to settle, the const-ruction industry can revive again. A financial support to obtain a driver’s license at an early age and the facilitation of the repeat exams of the GKI course would not only encourage the youth to acquire a driver’s license but it would also be incentive towards a competitive salary. A virtual card centre, and a membership system for regular customers would enable companies a discounted purchaser price for fittings and fuel. These changes would improve the current situation of cargo companies, allowing them to preserve their competitiveness besides remaining subsistent.
