Absztrakt (kivonat)

I was inspired to choose the topic of my thesis because I wanted to learn more about a current problem. The Russian-Ukrainian conflict is receiving a lot of attention these days, and everyone wants to know what the outcome will be and what effects it will bring. I also searc-hed for the answer to this question while writing my thesis. I was the first to map the world of payment systems. I started the investigation a long time ago. I wanted to present the domestic and international payment systems separately, alt-hough there is a lot of overlap between them. I started my topic by introducing money as a concept, then I analyzed the formation of the forint and the issue of the introduction of the euro in Hungary. In the second half of the first part, I presented the main characteristics of payment systems, the basic types of risks, as well as the role of institutions participating in the administration of payment systems. After creating a picture of the domestic payment systems, I moved on to the presentati-on of the international payment systems. I considered it important to describe the main factors of the development of the single European money market. Then, in my thesis, I wrote about the pan-European, real-time, gross settlement payment system, TARGET, because it plays a decisive role in the international market. I also covered the single euro payment area and the directives on payment services. In the first part of the third chapter, I considered it important to look back to the roots of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. After I managed to outline the root causes, I examined the effects of the conflict on the global system. In the rest of my thesis, I explored the difficulties that Russia has to face in order to be banned from the SWIFT system. After that, I also stu-died the economic situation of Ukraine, examined the difficulties caused by the conflict situ-ation and the future vision of the affected countries. Finally, I summarized the main points of my research and prepared a short summary of my thesis. I highlighted the main problems and suggested some steps to achieve a smoother, more peaceful economy.
