Absztrakt (kivonat)

The title of my thesis is "Human and social image of cultures, civilizations, religions - Christian image of man". In my work I undertook to outline the image of a Christian. I approached the presentation of Christian anthropology from the point of view of the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. The focus of my interest was the church's pronouncements of the last decade, primarily the thoughts of Pope Francis. Furthermore I found the concept of human dignity to be the most important characteristic of a Christian, which is an inalienable characteristic of every human being, and from which rights and duties arise. The problem of euthanasia arises in connection with the question of the Christian image of man and human dignity. In connection with this, I conducted an internet questionnaire research mainly among the students of the University of Sopron. They are students from social and special pedagogues major. I was questioning them about how informed they are about the issue of euthanasia, its variants, and how they would decide on end-of-life issues for themselves, a close relative, or their future client. I have found that the majority of the students who practice their religion according to the teachings of the Church, refrain from taking their own or others' lives under the weight of suffering. Behind their decisions can probably be the religious conviction that every person's life is in God's hands, and therefore it is the duty of a Christian to accompany a suffering fellow human being, to ease his pain, and to take care of his emotional and spiritual needs.
