Absztrakt (kivonat)

In this paper of mine, I am focusing to investigate the rising cost of living and determine whether or not it is sufficient to get people through the current crisis situation in the country, which includes a number of issues such as inflation and so on. More specifically, the population of this study is comprised of people who are of working age and live in Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. I choose this topic since the economic crisis that is happening right now in the World which many countries got affected by, and Laos is also one of the countries that got influenced by a lot. Even though I am not in my country right now, but I am deeply concerned about this situation. Therefore, I shed light on this issue that affect the working age group in Vientiane. Furthermore, I also want to find out that during this crisis how can the working group in Vientiane cope with this situation where the price of goods and services are increasing but their salary remain the same. Additionally, I also would like to know what do the working age group think that the government should do to help the situation to get better. In the first part of my thesis, I wrote mainly about the theoretical parts including the definitions and the concepts. Moreover, I have talked about the country’s context (Lao PDR), addressing the ongoing situation. I have researched why the price in the market is rising, ongoing inflation and not justice exchange rates. A quantitative data is used to implemented to this study by having 100 sample groups participate in the survey, which I specify to the working age group in Vientiane, Lao PDR. As a result approximately they are all concerns by the economic crisis which leads to bad mental health and it can also address that the government is not doing well. Lastly, I ask an open-minded question which let them answer if they think that the government should take action and help the citizens.
