MIKKY THAO 2022 BA in International Business Economics University of Sopron Alexandre Lamfalussy Faculty of Economics Consultant: Prof. Dr. Zsuzsanna Szeles Dean, full professor THE EVOLUTION OF ELECTRONIC PAYMENT SYSTEM IN CHINA The primary purpose of the diploma component is to get an understanding of the development of digital payment or electronic payment in current contemporary day. China was selected as the focus of the investigation for two different reasons. To begin, China has the largest mobile payment use of any market in the world. This is a fact. The second point is that China is a developing nation. despite the fact that its economy is the second biggest in the world and its military is the greatest in the world. by looking at how far China has come with its digital economy and how far it has come with its electronic payment system. It is anticipated that the study will uncover the factors that have contributed to the phenomenal growth of the electronic payment industry in China, as well as the reasons why the majority of Chinese residents see this present trend of electronic payment as a good development. China has been slowly making headway toward a digital payment over the last many years, and it now seems that China is prepared to become the first large country to establish an official central bank digital currency (CBDC). In recent years, China has possessed the scale necessary to drive the rapid commercialization of digital business models. Additionally, it has the advantage of a very large domestic market of consumers who are young and eager to embrace digital in all of its forms. Both of these advantages have contributed to China's ability to drive rapid commercialization of digital business models. The combination of these two characteristics provides China with an edge over other nations. The government is actively supporting digital innovation and entrepreneurship by giving help as an investor, technology developer, and user of new technology, as well as providing opportunities for businesses to experiment with new technologies. This is accomplished by granting license to corporations to conduct experiments. It is quite possible that the ongoing digital revolution in China will have a rising influence on the digital landscapes of countries all over the world. This revolution is already having a substantial impact on China's economy. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, the author investigated the one-of-akind circumstances of electronic payment in China and compared them to those in the United States. The author also offers statistics and does an analysis of the differences between the two nations.
