Absztrakt (kivonat)

During the aim defintion of my thesis I made focus onto two main topics, both of them connected to Savaria Hotel which is currently unused, in one hand this building is one of the most important symbol of the city, on the other hand I am investigating the possibility to find a sustainable solution for the heritage. From my first point of view I will present the necessity of new properties where we can provide further possibilities for the tourists and discover the needs for further accommodation in this region. During the thesis I will provide further details about the lack of accommodation possibilities which could give a great opportunity for this building to reborn in a new fresh interior shape, but still show the values of Secession which needs to be preserved for the future. On the above basis I would like to prove that this building shall be renovated and kept in the middle of the city life in order to help to increase the tourist attractions and help to the locals to recognize the value of the ruins. My thesis goes through the macro levels of Tourism, first focuses on the MTÜ’s (Hungarian Touristic Agency) model which is the key element of National Touristic Strategy 2030. After the definition phase, the demonstration of the building helps us to understand the importance of Savaria Hotel, previous name Kovács Hotel, which had been finally closed in 2005, without any preservation the value of the symbol is decreasing in parallel with the quality of the heritage. The facade is in good shape thanked to the renovation in 1980s, but the interior renovation is indispensable. During the thesis my survey analyzed 357 responses from city-dwellers how they can imagine the future of the building and how they would like to preserve or see it in a decade. After processing all the samples, the result objectively shows that the value of the heritage has not disappeared yet and the citizens see the necessity to reopen the icon of the city. The renovation shall be done in multiple phases and some part shall lose their original function in order to provide the quality to reach Hotel Starts Union 4-stars-hotel category. Some parts of the building would be designed for office buildings in order to have a sustainable financial solution. This part would include a conference room connected to the hotel, so this building could be the future’s business center/business conference space of the city and region. These new opportunities would be the last cry for help of this heritage to not disappear forever.
