Absztrakt (kivonat)

This thesis examines the extent to which a small and medium-sized enterprise applies the principles of Just-in-Time (JIT) logistics in practice. The study focuses on a Hungarian SME operating in the automotive parts trade sector, analysing its operational processes and decision-making mechanisms. The research is based on a qualitative case study approach, using structured interviews and direct observation of company practices. The collected data is evaluated by comparing the company’s operations with the theoretical framework of JIT logistics. The findings indicate that the company applies several core JIT principles, such as demand-driven ordering and low inventory levels. However, these practices are implemented in an informal and experience-based manner rather than through a structured system. Key limitations include the lack of process standardization, weak supplier coordination, and minimal use of digital tools. Overall, the company demonstrates a partial level of JIT implementation, corresponding to a moderate level of operational maturity. The results suggest that further improvements could be achieved through the introduction of basic performance measurement, process formalization, and enhanced coordination mechanisms.
