Absztrakt (kivonat)

This study investigates the infestation patterns of white mistletoe (Viscum album subsp. austriacum) in black pine (Pinus nigra) stands of the Sopron Mountains and the Dudlesz Forest. A total of 123 trees were surveyed, with detailed crown-level, gap-structure and neighbour-composition measurements collected in the mixed stands, while pure pine stands were assessed for infection status and basic dendrometric variables. Analyses using Spearman correlation, Mann-Whitney U tests and crosstab methods showed that mistletoe occurred exclusively in older mixed stands and was associated with larger DBH (diameter at breast height), greater crown openness and south-exposed crown sectors. Crown gap angle positively correlated with infestation, whereas stand density and neighbour tree distances showed no effect. The pure, closed-canopy pine stands, despite their age of around 60 years, showed no signs of mistletoe infection.
