Absztrakt (kivonat)

The aim of this thesis is to examine the introduction and application of innovative wound care technologies in Hungary, with a special focus on Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), from health economic and professional perspectives. The development of modern wound management provides an opportunity to reduce healing time, prevent infections, and improve the quality of patient care; however, the widespread adoption of these methods in the Hungarian healthcare system is hindered by various structural and financial challenges.  The thesis reviews the clinical background of NPWT, its international and domestic implementation experiences, and analyses its economic impacts – with particular attention to treatment duration, nursing costs, and health gains. During the research, domestic case studies, cost analyses, and a review of the literature were used, complemented by personal experience and institutional data.  Based on the results, negative pressure therapy is not only clinically effective, but it can also be a financially viable method in the long term. Its preventive application may result in significant health gains for high-risk patients. The thesis formulates proposals for the transformation of the current financing system, the strengthening of preventive approaches, and the implementation of regular cost–benefit analyses.
