Absztrakt (kivonat)

This study aimed to analyse the effects of information technology on the Performance of Suxess Logistic company. The study objectives were to determine the extent to which ICT is applied in the supply chain of Suxes Logistics company, to determine how ICT application affects supply chain performance in the Suxes Logistics company and to establish the challenges of ICT in supply chain performance in Suxess Logistic company. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire and descriptive research design was used in the study. The study concluded that there is a need to emphasize the pivotal role of ICT solutions in introducing innovative methods for managing information, processing data, facilitating distribution, and enhancing communication across the supply chain network, aligning with previous research. Secondly, it underscores the benefits of IT restructuring in distribution setups, leading to improved service levels, decreased inventory, and reduced supply chain costs, with strategic IT directions including increased receipt/dispatch frequency, upstream material handling and lead time reduction. Lastly, the study identifies challenges facing ICT integration in supply chain performance, including cybersecurity threats, organizational complexity, and financial constraints, emphasizing the need for robust security measures, skill development, and adequate financial resources to overcome these obstacles and realize the full potential of ICT in enhancing supply chain performance. The study recommends that to foster the integration of ICT solutions in supply chain management (SCM), governments should prioritize initiatives that promote digital infrastructure development and cybersecurity resilience. The conclusions drawn from this research are somewhat limited due to the sampling technique employed, namely purposive simple sampling, which relies on the researcher's discretion. This implies that both conscious and unconscious biases may affect the data collection process. While these biases may lend an appearance of validity to the data, they can also introduce inaccuracies and produce misleading results. The research analyzed data through a cross-sectional approach, gathered via purposive sampling.
